Meet Our Dedicated Team

Maureen Johnson

President/Founder

MAUREEN JOHNSON grew up in New York, a very diverse and globally-active environment.  She has been in the tourism industry for over 20 years and was bitten by the travel bug at an early age.  Growing up in an underserved community, her father worked for a plant that built airplane parts.  Through a rare opportunity, one of her father's co-workers had a small, twin engine  airplane and took Maureen and her father for a ride. Looking out of that airplane window, "trying to find her house" from above, she realized then, that the world was so much bigger than she could ever have imagined.  Maureen is married and has 6 children and several grandchildren.  She has a passion for community intitiatives that focus on youth development.  Maureen is a retired military veteran and had the opportunity to see a lot of the world.  She is also a Life and Health Insurance Agent with a mission to educate and assist families with financial literacy.  During her travels she observed that many hard working individuals want to travel, but just do not have the resources to do so. She understands the impact and the benefits of being exposed to the world through travel and wants others to benefit, as well.  Hence, when the opportunity presented itself, she created "Our Global Village, Inc.", a program that encourages, inspires, and assists individuals to explore and contribute to the world in which we live.
