Chea Johnson
Program Director
Chea Johnson serves on our board with a strong background and a wealth of knowledge in youth development, by stimulating positive growth and learning through education, recreation, and athletics. He is currently a Recreation Specialist with Mecklenburg County Parks and Recreation. He also serves as Director/Head Trainer for Supreme Skills Academy, and served as Assistant Varsity/Head J.V. Basketball Coach for Olympic High School in Charlotte, N.C. and Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at Winston-Salem State University.
As a child, he was involved in basketball, baseball and football organized sports organizations. Chea is married with 3 children and has strong family values. He is a Winston-Salem State University graduate with a BS in Sports Management, Concentration in Administration and Management. He has worked in the capacity of Recreation Specialist, Mental Health Clinician ,Special Education Teacher Behavioral Health.
Makeda Johnson
Youth Coordinator
Singer/songwriter Makeda Iroquois has been cultivating her sound for quite some time. She is a U.N.C. Greensboro graduate with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance, Theatre and Arts. A Hempstead, L.I. native/Charlotte, NC raised, Makeda's music reflects a broadly cultured upbringing. Her more recent work (both released and unreleased) has gone through the high fi's and low fi's of southern and northern influence. With a love for early 90s hip hop, jazz, world music and a foundation of African, Caribbean and Native ancestry, Makeda's art is the story of a beautiful struggle to incorporate her life's experiences into her life's work.
Makeda currently works for Apple in New York City where she often-times assists world-renowned celebrities and artists who visit the location for assistance.
